How you learn

  1. Step 1UnderstandLearn the business problem and where AI fits.
  2. Step 2BuildAssemble the app, tools and data it needs.
  3. Step 3RunWatch your system work on real inputs.
  4. Step 4BreakPush it until it fails, on purpose.
  5. Step 5TraceFollow each step to see why it failed.
  6. Step 6FixAdd guardrails so it can't fail that way again.
  7. Step 7EvaluateTest it against clear standards and score it.
  8. Step 8DeployShip it live with monitoring in place.

Simple on the surface. Powerful underneath.

What makes it different

  • A flight simulator, not a video library

Every week you build, run, break and trace a real system — not just watch someone else do it.

  • AI handles judgment. Code handles policy.

You learn where models belong in an application and where deterministic code must stay in charge.

  • One serious application

You choose a real business problem at enrollment and grow one application across the whole program.

  • Built by people who ship

CAB Academy grows out of the orchestration, evaluation and delivery systems Columbus App Builders runs every day.

Questions

Do I need to be an experienced programmer?

No. The Prework path covers apps, APIs, data, authentication and LLM basics for motivated beginners. Advanced students can test out of parts of it.

How much time does it take?

Plan on about 6–10 hours per week for the flagship program. You can take it self-paced or with a cohort.

What do I get at the end?

A CAB Academy Certificate of Completion listing the competencies you demonstrated, plus the application you built. CAB Academy is a professional training program; it is not accredited and does not grant degrees or academic credit.

Is enrollment open?

Applications are open now. We review each one and email next steps. Nothing is charged when you apply.
