CAB Validate · $199 · Market Research Dossier
Know your market before you build.
A full market research dossier — market size, competitors, buyer pricing and a go-to-market plan — before you invest in development.
Get a detailed research report, three scores out of 100 — Validate Score, Success Potential and the CAB Unified Score — and clear next steps. Strong scores earn 50% off your next CAB Blueprint for this idea, valid for 30 days. If they don't, you keep the full report and a conversation with a CAB Professional opens.
1What you receive
A decision-grade report, not a gut check.
- Market sizing — TAM, SAM and a realistic obtainable share, each with its basis shown
- A competitor gap matrix with pricing, strengths, weaknesses and your entry wedge
- Buyer and user profiles with willingness-to-pay benchmarks: floor, target and ceiling price
- Search demand read — whether buyers are already looking, and the phrases they use
- A go-to-market playbook: ranked channels, estimated cost per customer, and a first-10-customers plan with an outreach script
- Compliance guardrails and how the idea can defend itself against copycats
- A source-based research report on the problem, the audience and who actually pays
- Direct, adjacent, manual and existing-tool alternatives, compared honestly
- A bottom-up view of the reachable opportunity — or the measurable internal value for a business tool
- Low, base and high economics with every assumption labelled and the formulas shown
- Three scores out of 100 — Validate Score, Success Potential and the CAB Unified Score — each with points, reasons and what would raise it per dimension
- A CAB recommendation: Build, Build Carefully, Validate First, Revise the Concept or Do Not Build Yet
- Any material risks named plainly, including ones that outrank an attractive score
- CAB's assessment confidence and why — stated in words, never as a number
- Three prioritized improvements and a practical 30-day validation plan
- An interview guide, experiment checklist and measurable proceed / pivot / stop criteria
- A downloadable branded PDF with the full source appendix
One assessment covers one idea. $199 is a one-time charge, not a subscription, and it is not a CAB development quote.
2How the assessment works
Four steps. A few days. One clear answer.
01
You describe the idea
A short conversation, one consequential question at a time. Unknowns are allowed — "I don't know yet" is a real answer and it's recorded as an unknown rather than guessed.
02
CAB runs desk research
Source-based research across the problem, demand signals, alternatives, opportunity size, economics, distribution and feasibility. We record each source with its publisher and date, and we check that a citation actually supports the claim it sits under.
03
A published rubric is applied
Independent 100-point scales — nine concept dimensions for the Validate Score, ten condition dimensions for Success Potential, and a separate evidence scale — with anchors written for commercial products, marketplaces and internal business tools. The rubric version is stored with your report, so every score can be traced to the rules in force that day.
04
You get a decision, not a verdict
The report can recommend building, testing first, narrowing the idea, using software that already exists, or not proceeding yet. Scoring is kept independent of CAB's opportunity to sell development.
3The rubric — 100 points
Two scores, published in advance.
The Validate Score says how strongly the idea itself holds up. Success Potential says how favorable the path to a working, selling business looks. The CAB Unified Score is CAB's single read across both, held back when evidence is thin. None of them is a percentage chance of success.
Validate Score
How strongly does this idea hold up?
Problem strength, customer need, opportunity, differentiation, business model, distribution, feasibility, scalability and structural risk. Judged on the concept alone — an unproven idea is not penalized here.
Success Potential
How favorable is the path from here?
Market access, adoption, economics, competitive position, execution complexity, retention, scalability, time to value, capital required and dependency risk. An analytical indicator of conditions — not a prediction or probability of success.
CAB Unified Score
What is CAB's single read?
One number combining both scales, then held back by evidence confidence, material risks and any critical failure point. It never averages away a serious problem.

15
Problem importance
A specific, consequential and sufficiently frequent problem
20
Demand or adoption evidence
Relevant evidence that intended users need and could adopt the solution
15
Reachable opportunity or value
A plausible reachable market or measurable internal benefit
15
Economics and sustainability
Supportable pricing or savings, cost structure, and useful scenario resilience
10
Differentiation and alternatives
A meaningful advantage over direct, adjacent, manual or no-build options
10
Distribution and adoption path
A credible way to reach buyers or achieve internal rollout
10
Technical and operational feasibility
An achievable first version with manageable dependencies and operating needs
5
Validation and execution plan
Concrete next tests, responsibilities and measurable success criteria
4Where your score leads
Either way, you leave with the full report.
80+
Qualifies
Your idea meets CAB's validation threshold.
A finalized Validate Score of 80–100, together with enough Evidence Strength, sufficient assessment confidence and no material risk outstanding, qualifies you for 50% off your next CAB Blueprint for this same idea, valid for 30 days from the moment your report and offer are first available to you. The offer is single-use, tied to your account and this idea, and non-stacking with other promotions.
- Applies to the Launch Blueprint ($499) or the CAB Product & Architecture Blueprint ($999) for the validated idea — half off that line item.
- Excludes the $199 Validate fee itself, build charges, taxes, hosting, Managed App Care, existing invoices and anything recurring.
- Blueprint project credit equals what you actually pay for the Blueprint, not its list price. The $199 Validate fee is not automatically build credit.
- Passing the threshold is a discount, not automatic scope acceptance, financing approval, or a promise that CAB can build any project.

Review path
Let's review what needs strengthening.
When either score falls short of CAB's published lines — or a material risk is named — no Validate discount is issued. Your full report is still yours to read and download, and a short intake opens so you can review the findings with a CAB Professional and decide whether and how to continue.
- You keep the complete report and PDF regardless of either score. No meeting or further purchase is required to read it.
- The review conversation is about the findings — it isn't a re-grade, and filling in the intake doesn't earn a discount.
- A strong Validate Score with low evidence strength means the idea is unproven, not weak. The report says exactly which proof is missing.
- This is separate from CAB Flex Second Look, which is about financing readiness, not idea quality.
5A sample report
See the depth before you pay.
Both samples are fictional and labelled as such.
6Start your assessment
One intelligent question at a time.
The assessment adapts to what you have already said. Questions can be read aloud, you can speak your answers, and everything saves as you go.
7Where Validate sits
One step in a clear path.
