App Blueprint

The plan before the build.

Every CAB custom build starts with a Blueprint: a structured document that turns your idea into a scoped product plan with architecture, investment range, timeline, and CAB recommendations. You know exactly what you are paying for before development begins.

Free: your Idea Snapshot. Paid: the Blueprint, which carries its full price forward as project credit.

What a Blueprint costs

CAB decides which Blueprint applies from the size of your project, so you are shown one price — not a menu. Both are credited toward your build.

Launch projects

Launch Blueprint

$499

Your project sits in our Launch Build range, so the Launch Blueprint applies.

focused Launch Builds

Business & Platform projects

CAB Product & Architecture Blueprint

$999

Your project needs the full Blueprint — business, product and architecture planning.

Business and Platform projects

Every dollar you pay for a Blueprint becomes project credit toward your build, valid for 12 months. If your build costs less than the Blueprint, the leftover stays as credit for those 12 months — usable on changes, Managed App Care, or a future build.

What is included

Includes guided discovery, business and product planning, architecture evaluation, scope definition, CAB recommendations, estimated development investment, and your completed Blueprint.

Your Business

What the concept is and who it serves.

Your Product

What the software should accomplish.

Your Workflows

How the operation connects end to end.

Your Architecture

How CAB recommends structuring it.

Your Scope

What belongs in the first build.

Your Investment

Expected build range and timeline.

CAB Recommendations

Where the project should be simplified or strengthened.

Why the Blueprint is required

A custom build has too many moving parts to price from a description alone. The Blueprint is how CAB confirms what should be built, what should be left out of version one, and what the real investment looks like. Without it, any estimate is a guess.

The Blueprint is required for every custom build. It is not required for CAB Pre-Built systems, which are already engineered and only need a short intake or conversation with a CAB Professional or Engineer to configure.

No Blueprint required. A short intake and a conversation with a CAB Professional or Engineer is all it takes to configure the system for your business.

How the credit works

  1. 01The Idea Snapshot is free. It summarises your idea and what we'd explore first. It does not include a build price or a timeline.
  2. 02Every CAB project begins with a Blueprint. There are two, and CAB decides which one applies from the size of your project — you are shown one price, not a menu.
  3. 03Launch Blueprint — $499, for focused Launch Builds.
  4. 04Full Blueprint — $999, for Business and Platform projects.
  5. 05Every dollar you pay for a Blueprint becomes project credit toward your build, valid for 12 months. If your build costs less than the Blueprint, the leftover stays as credit for those 12 months — usable on changes, Managed App Care, or a future build.
  6. 06Your build estimate and timeline arrive inside the Blueprint, not before it.

CAB Flex and your Blueprint

Flex does not finance the Blueprint

CAB Flex is a payment plan for your approved build balance, not for the Blueprint itself. The Blueprint is paid first and becomes project credit toward the build.

Build payments as low as $299/month

For qualified clients, CAB Flex can spread the approved build balance over up to 48 months. Your project price is decided first; Flex only decides how the approved balance is paid.

What you receive

Your completed Blueprint is a written plan you can review, share, and keep. It covers the business problem, the people served, the recommended architecture, the core systems, what is deliberately left out of version one, risks and mitigations, phasing, an estimated investment range, an estimated timeline, success metrics, and your CAB code.

You can also download it as a premium PDF or have it emailed to you from your planner once it is ready.
